is it there at all times? If so it sounds like that line is gone for good, if you can live with it do. If not it's pretty easy to replace the screen, you can get them for about 50 online.

The line is always there, even when I scroll up and down.

When the screen is bright, the line is dark and vice versa.

If i need to buy an new iPod, what would ye recommend? (I have about 45GB of data to be stored).

I've only had this iPod for 2 years.

if using it as an excuse for a new one then I'd go for the 64GB ipod touch. Otherwise I'd live it it or fix the screen myself.
