    Check out link below where the seller from above attempts to swap his €200 (at best) bike for a Bianchi Pista with an aerospoke and has the cheek to look for cash as well.

    I didn't realise that the flat-bar fixie aerospoke phenomenon had reached Dublin.

    (searches desperately to find something positive to say)

    I guess it's handy for locking, not having all those spokes to navigate around.

    Where do people get off valuing their bikes. I shifted a mountain bike recently, wanted €150 for it, posted at €200, got offers up to €180 and sold it to the 180 bidder for €150 - a fair deal all around.

    What's the story with second hand bike values - surely the value is only what someone is prepared to pay. It's not as if you're an LBS or global online seller.

    It's difficult to objectively value an old bike on the internet, since the value is so dependent on the state of the components which you can't see from pics, particularly the crappy small ones supported by adverts.ie.

    Caveat emptor and all that.
