    Hi Guys.
While looking through ebay for a bargain I found this G6122 Chet Atkins
which has a broken neck. It looks pretty bad to me but I just wanted to ask you guys who know about these things....Is it repairable? Could you DIY? If it needed professional attention who is around to fix it and any idea of how much it would cost?

Be very interested to hear your oinions lads.http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370278508640&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

LOL.....I know what you mean. Its a crying shame to see a super guitar which was obviously new in such a sorry state. If it was repairable I might take a punt on it.:)

It doesnt look too bad. You might end up having to break it more to get glue in though...

So you think it could be a DIY job using glue and pressure?

I've think so but I'm worried about glueing over the joint, you may have to sand the break to get a good glueing surface. Itd be great to have a proper look at it, damn internet and its non-physical nature :(

Can see what you mean. I dont fancy spending over a grand on it to be left with something unplayable.
I love to get an opinion from someone who has fixed a similar broken neck before.

There's anothere alternative, for not much more when you factor in repair costs and more than that, peace of mind on an expensive guitar. It's a different model but I'd never feel 100% about the first guitar.

Hopefully whoever does take it knows enough about the repairs it won't be an issue, but for me if this were to be my pride and joy I wouldn't want that worry hanging over me.
