can anyone guess the correlation between the piece of crap/piece of genius mentioned in the subject?

while my wife subjected me to 3 almost lethal doses of ITV's the x-factor[not counting the x-tra factor] last weekend I noticed a familiar tune. Indeed the editor of the show has used the soundtrack from the tense moments in heat vision and jack and uses them in the tense moments of the x-factor.
Now I have 3 plausible reasons.1.he is making an injoke, a homage to the heatvision and jack show or 2 he just plain stole it off what is a little-known unaired pilot. or 3 the song is a stock soundtrack u can buy and both shows happened to use it.

Would anyone know what song it is....or even what Im talking about? Its bugging me. I need to know that song.

    Thanks,

    Brian.

ps if u look at heatvision....its at the start I think when jack black walks into the petrol station and sees it is wrecked.
