Got the game yesterday 'cos I loved 2009 (despite it's critics etc).

So far I am very disappointed, game very slow, crosses into the box are more lofted that drilled in, tackling is looser and not as fierce and dribbling is now non-existent....buses turn faster.

I read a review and same said that this is what the reviewer felt at first but the game got better and better the more he played it (so much that he thinks it is the best game on the market)

Sounds like you wanted an arcade footy game in which case Fifa is more up your tree. Pro evo is a footy sim i have found that everything you are complaining about are actually the things that i love and why i came back to the game after the last 2 games which where nothing more than an attempt at sa fifa clone thats why they where so rubish.

I'm finding it much faster paced compared to fifa tbh. Its pretty end to end, had some great games against the com.

Online won't work at all though.

egriff im an xboxer but i used to have a ps3 ...your online problem is that you have your firewall on medium ....moving it to low will allow you to play pes online as well as kepp your computer safe ..or you can just switch it back to medium everytime you want to use the computer.

So many people disagree with what you just said these days. Complete opposite in fact they would argue.

Thats because too many people are used to watching football on sky sports and thats what they expect to see in a game. So they think all the fancy stuff Fifa has is important but they always seem to forget its the actual gameplay that matters. Fifa has never been able to recreate what pro evo did. The second someone says Fifa is better than pro evo i know to stop listening to them. Its like when people say battlefield is better then COD4 its just not. I know lots of people will not agree but ive been waiting for Fifa to bring out a game better than pro evo and dispite every year people telling me this is the one it has never happened.

Still both will have their fans its just that Fifa fans tend to be different to pro evo fans competition is good as both games will have to keep improving.

I am not a Fifa man but when Pes was on tp the critics acknowledged it. Now that it is not the critics have gone the other way.

I am just saying there plenty thats unrealistic in Pes.

Just had an angry rant over in the PES thread. I think I really want someone to tell me it will all get better with time but I am not sure.

All very well having the PES V Fifa agrument but no one is answering what I believe to be flaws in the current game:

    - these card things are stupid, make no difference & a little childish
    - the loss of the attack arrows and defensive selection that was on previous games
    - master league - the inability so see future transfer target's stats (whats that about) and the complete awkwarness involved in signing players (now have to apply a scatter gun approach or just buy the highest ranked player)
    - dribbling is shocking, players kinda ghost past now and it feels the computer is doing it more than me (very FIFA like)
    - shooting is poor now, focus on hard shots now and loss of those curling strikes that were in Pro 2009
    - slide tackles are a joke
    - crosses are more Jermaine Pennant (lofted) than David Beckham (wipped in)

Considering bringing the game back and keeping Pro Evo 2009...very disappointing...

Who reviewed it? Wasn't it IGN that gave PES 08 a brilliant review, which was absolutely shockingly bad. Turns out that IGN were sponsoring it too.......I read at least 3/4 different review sites these days to try and get a balanced view.

the problem is your used to the stupid pace of the last 2 versions. in 2010 you have to think about how your recieving the ball and take the players position into account before shooting or passing. unless you have space now you cant play perfect passes or shots and even the ball bouncing towards a player will affect his control.

the shooting seems much harder because you need to make space for a good shot but if your under pressure even the best players will get nudged off the ball and get a bad connection. the curling shots are still there but they need more time and space than before.

i hated the demo at first but after sticking at it got better and the final game is almost as good as pes6 imo. the amount of thought it takes is frustrating at first but once you play it for a few weeks it'll all fall into place.

Is fifa as jerky as pes ? ,I just got pes this evening and haven't played a footy game for years.

I wasn't expecting any robotics from the players
