My last car was a 02 Mondeo 1.8Zetec. I bought it in 2005 and got one year warranty with it.
When I met a buddy of mine a couple of days later I told him of the deal i got and if my memory serves me correctly he informed me that you can now buy a warranty for something like €100 ..?
Am I dreaming or is there such thing?

Yeh you can. I don't know if Ford have their own in house one, you may have had to have the car from new and continuously on warranty (as in as soon as their warranty ran out you took out a further year) but if not there are independent companies too.

My one is up in Jan 10 and I'm going to buy one.

    Hmm.
The reason i ask is because my son is 18 Next month and i will be on the hunt for a car.
Most of them we are interested in are private sales. I was wondering could a warranty be bought in this case ??

A dealer selling a car can buy warranty cover for it ... it's a type of insurance product. One example company that does this is Mapfre. There are terms and conditions, eg may have to be main dealer serviced. Not sure if a private punter could buy the warrany but I don't see why not.
