hi. my insurance is just out. im planning on fitting a h&r cup kit to my car soon. i was just wondering if anyone has any experiance with 123.ie and declaring mods on there insurance. will they do it? and if they do are they expencive to add mods? i dont want to ring them incase they note it on my policy and if i dont declare them and if anything happened it would be the first thing they would look for.
hope this makes sence lol and if its in the wrong section please move it!
    thanks
    sean

    as far as i know,

you can tell them you have mods and the insurance will go up (i have no idea by how much) and they will still insure you depending on age and license.

if you tell them you dont have any mods and they insure you with no mods they still will fix your car but only to the way the car was first made when it left the factory floor.

They mightn't fix it all actually.

I've heard that happening too, jackncoke. Although I've also heard that sometimes they will acquiesce for the original value of the car.

I'd declare it, for simplicities sake.

some insurance companies will state on their site they will fix it to manufacturers specs and some companies will state that your insurance is void if you do have mods undeclared on your policy.

Im with 123 and have a good few mod's declared and it made no difference to the premium.

The bottom line is that you tell your insurers exactly what you have. Anyone giving advice to the contrary is doing you no favours at all
