    I get enough stick about this, but I love all of these brat pack films of the 80's. They're essentially feel good movies, but with enough cynicism to make them more real then feel good films have been in the last 20 years.

    Yes, the girl gets the guy, and the guy gets the girl, and the life lessons are supposedly learnt along the way, but there's enough real crap, and attitude coming from the characters to make them stand out. They're all flawed in some way, and perfect in another. It's not as simple as giving them a makeover to change their entire world (I personally think Allison Reynolds in Breakfast Club looked better before the makeover).
