    So is this an extra hours sleep or one hour less? I'd usually know but what time I get up has been unusually inconsequential this year.

    clock goes forward in spring back in autumn (fall).
    simples!!

    in fairness though, I'm also a bit baffled by seasons in this country, I mean it doesn't seem to matter what season it is on paper, the weather is still cold and rainy with a severe chance of flooding. The Celts mustn't have had a clue what time of year it was...
