I have just booked flights to Florida in early January. Anyone got experience of playing in Florida ? I need to arrange accommodation , tee times etc and would like some pointers/recommendations/advice etc. Eg is it best to buy a package from an agent in Ireland or work through the US ? Plan on playing approx 5 games and would like to include TPC Stadium and Doral.
    Many thanks

That would be really useful thanks. . Info on Orland would be fantastic as flying in and out of there and somewhere local for the first few days would be ideal.
Dont think I will bother with Doral, but interested in Sawgrass and courses around Jacksonville . I believe you have to stay at the Marriott to get on to the Stadium course?
    Thanks again for help.

I have golfed in Florida a few times over the past couple of years - fantastic I really envy you. However, my trip was down the gulf coast. www.ezlinks.com have always got me fantastic deals and immediate refund when I had to cancel one of my rounds at very last minute.

There are lots of other websites offering reduced rate greenfees too but found ezlinks the best.

    Hope this helps

Many thanks, exactly the type of info I need. Also came across a fantastic hotel booking site 1800hotels.ie . Seems like plenty of bargains for accommodation.

Two course here if you stay at the renaissance Resort / King And Bear & Slammer and Squire and lots to see at the hall of fame.
Here for a few pints: http://www.murraybroscaddyshack.com/restaurant/

And for the special dinner in the Ponte Vedra area after Sawgrass: http://www.ruthschris.com/Steak-House/7202/Ponte-Vedra-Beach

If you want to play the TPC book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Drop me a pm if you would like any more info on the St Augustine / Ponte Vedra Area, I might be able to help?

Really great info L.O.F.T. . Thank you very much. Marriott at Sawgrass dont have their 2010 golf packages published yet. Got a price of $154 accommodation and $255 for green fee. Too expensive for me.
Sorry for being stupid what is a pm (personal message?) and how do I do it?
    Thank you
