Air Rifle

    Hi,
Iam looking for an air rifle. Preferably a hand cocking (spring) model. I tried some BSA models while I was in the UK and particulary liked them but I am open to any model. To basically explain the use, I have a rabbit problem so I am looking something to get rid of them.
    Many Thanks

Oh right. I bought a new Norica Dragon air rifle last year and was considering selling it due to lack of use.

Are air rifles subject to license control as stringent as geenral fire arms?
How much would a half decent one go for generally?

iv`e got a nice .22 rim fire for sale , much more affective than a air gun

I'm based in Cork and would only be too happy to come down with my friend to shoot some of those bunnies for you. We also have ferrets and a couple of good whippets so wouldn't be long getting rid of your rabbit problem, if you wanted.

Sounds like the best (Cheapest) solution for the OP

Once it's over 1 Joule it's a firearm so the letter of the law says they're licensed as strictly as any other (non-restricted) firearm.

Some Gardai may take the lower energy of an airgun into account and be more willing to license it but I wouldn't bank on it.

From a safety point of view of course you treat it like any other rifle. Make sure you have a good backstop and beware of ricochets.
