Dual Shock 3 problems

Havin a few problems with my virtually unused dualshock 3 controller lads. I got it last Christmas but i've really hardly played my ps3 all year so its hardly been used at all. The problem is that now if i'm using any of the buttons, they seem to require a good hard push before the system responds. For example in fifa, if i just wanted to tap a pass with X, i cant, i always need to give it a good hard push, making nearly any game virtually unplayable IMO:(

Now, i'm guessing you're wondering at this point, why i dont just return it. You see a i bought it a few days before Christmas last year in.......ugh Zavvi! It was only €40 in their liquidation sale:rolleyes:. I have the receipt and all though so does anyone know how i'd go about getting a replacement off them?

Alternatively, though, does anyone know if its only a simple problem? Maybe the interior of the controller is wet or something maybe?

Thanks for any help!:) I'm resorted to using my original sixaxis which is fine but not so good when i have a few friend around and we want some multiplayer action!

If you're going to try taking it apart there are quite a few youtube vids available in how to do this

I had left mine on by the TV for a good few months are i had gotten in a white dual shock. when i picked it up the analogue sticks where all really sticky !! i couldnt get it off so i had to wash them twice to get them any way touchable. When rinsing a tiny bit of water got into the controller now all the left side doesnt work at all.

Thanks lads, looks like a youtube guided clean inside the controller is the option. I really dont want to go out and have to buy another one for €50:mad:
