    +1

But Dermot Wallace cars are always off the wall on price. That said they'll be preped well ...but

About €2-3k overpriced I would have said, but then 5 series tourings are scarce enough to make them difficult to price. If you want one here, you're very limited. If you want choice, you have to go to the UK but estates hold their value better than saloons over there for some reason. That said, I would imagine most UK cars would be the 3 litre diesels, given their road tax.

I find BMWs can be a bit odd 2nd hand. There seems to be loads about but if there's one or two options you want or need it can be hard to find one. I don't fancy the colour of that one and I'd question the wisdom of 18" wheels on an already hard-riding estate, but otherwise it looks ok so long as there's a service history.

I wouldn't be too pushed on that car at all. Certainly wouldn't be keen on the look of it. Would be expensive to run too I'm sure with a 2.2 litre petrol motor. I think the saloon would be a much classier option. Large Mercedes or BMW or Audi estates don't appeal to me much but thats just my personal opinion. If I needed an estate car I'd be more at that kind of money I'd be more inclined towards a diesel manual Passat/ Vectra/ Mondeo/ Avensis and you would be going up a few years surely. As the other subscribers are suggesting also I think the car is overpriced and if you pay anywhere the asking price you will take a fierce hit in depreciation in the next few years

Immaculate looking car but a bit rich to be honest. Could try playing hardball because it wont be going anywhere fast at that price. Check out the UK too, the better fuel consumption of a 530d will make up for the road tax easily

Far too much for what you can get out there for either the same money, or a similar age.

have a look on piston heads. Usually a decent choice on there. I'd really look at a 530d though. Better economy, drive and residuals. Ignore the tax. Lifes too short for something thats really only a few cents a day

    What do you want Mr.Boots?
    Budget?
Does it need to be an estate?
    Petrol or Diesel?
    etc etc.

    Dosnt need to be diesel
    has to be an estate
18k max but would prefer to spend alot less
dont want a mondeo, avensis, vectra as previously mentioned....lifes to short.

A bit more than a few cent per day if I'm looking at an up to date table EPM. If I am its 1,231 EUR per annum, if not its more. I suppose its all down to the mileage the OP intends to cover per annum but then again he may consider life too short to be dealing with a dirty diesel that could potentially cause him major grief.

take away what he'll be paying on the 2.2 and you get...

    Hint-a few cents a day:D

Doesn't look like his usual high quality stock to be honest. Those E60 M5 replica wheels ruin it for me.

Its still over 400 quid difference per annum EPM. I'd consider that more than a few cents a day and especially given that the cost of taxing a 2.2 litre car is substancial as it is (well I'd think so anyway).

That would be grand I'm sure if Mr. Boots is covering consideable mileage but if not...well. Plus if anything goes wrong with a modern BMW diesel engine...I'd consider life too short to be dealing with that sort of hassle and expense.

Consider an X5, very comfy, Estate-ish and a great engine.

Apparently not. There have been a few stories going around about them for a while now.
