    1) Savour the atmosphere at the start. 12,500 apprehensive people, all wondering if they put enough into their training to reach their goals, wishing it would start now and hoping for the best!
    2) The cheers and the noise when at last you do start, the chatter and the patter of the first few miles.
    3) The autumn splendour of the Phoenix Park.... pure magic!
    4) The dubs, all the locals lining the streets handing out sweets and encouragement with a fair dollop of wit and banter.
    5) Reaching the half way mark at the Half Way House, you are on your way home now!
    6) Running down Foster's Avenue, only 5 miles left.
    7) Climbing up the UCD flyover, (what feckin' sadist put that there:)).
    8) Turning from College St. into Nassau St. Now you know you have made it, as the crowd urges you home.
    9) You check your time and be absolutely delighted.
    10) As the medal goes around your neck you are already thinking 'I'll knock 15 minutes off that next year'!!!!!!

(Enjoy it everybody and a big thanks to all the organisers who have made it possible for all of us to do what we have being dreaming about)
