I think one or two might have walked out shortly after Tour of Ireland apparently there was war after their poor performance in the Tour ....
The Bossman wasnt best pleased by all accounts.

OK OK......I'll gladly stand corrected on the walking bit ,but as for the bollicking and bust up that did happen for sure.

were they ones who got bollocked irish or foreign?you don,t have to be a genius to work out who had a ****e toi just look up the results sheets!

anytime i check out results on cyclingnews.com i usually just scroll down to the tail end of the results to lo and behold find the irish riders adrift by a long way, thats if the even bothered to finish.

They all got a roasting everyone of them and rightly so....

But hey dont loose faith just yet there is hope in the shape or a young Mr Sam Bennett absolute fantastic ride in this years Tour and had the balls to climb Patricks Hill and finish aswell. One of, if not ,the youngest riders in the race.Unfortunatly he is only one person we need 5 or 6 more of him......TO MAKE A TEAM .....THAT WILL STILL BE ON GC SHEET AT RACE END.

I think Sam will be joining VC La Pomme rather than the An Post team.

VC La Pomme have a great track record on getting cyclists (esp. Irish) into the paid ranks. Scanlon, Deignan, Roche and Martin have all raced with the club, not to mention Remy di Gregorio, Fumiyuki Beppu, and a number of other current pros. Good move by Bennett imo.

Bikerbhoy i dont no where u get ur info. sam bennett is a great talent for irish cycling i agree with that. but the team talk after the toi was nothing out of the ordinary mark cassidy had a great ride with dennis van winden on the second stage, even the so called great lance armstrong didnt bother cycling up paddys hill. as for the comments above about the results on cyclingnew.com. the sean kelly is being built in a proper way. they have one or two leaders and the rest are domestiques. when u have riders like steven van vooren and niko eckeout the irish riders have no problem doing anything to help their team as there turn will come.

when exactly will paidi o briens turn come?
hes been there three years and correct me if i am wrong has no victories.
i was under the impression that it is a development squad, if that is true why did david o loughlin sign up?
if a guy whoi s 39 can get the results that he has this year and the 2 daniels did last year, there is no excuse for guys in their mid twenties with 5 or 6 years racing at home and abroad.

Yes agreed BUT Are we supposed to be happy with that ... only reason that happened was because someone had to get the brand name out there,I mean in fairness was he ever goin to win that stage ??????...... Good rides dont go down in the history books....WINS DO

As D O'Loughlin is Irelands highest ranked Track Cyclist and it was important that he would have support from a Team to ride the World Cup Track Races. It was good business for Team, Rider and Cycling Ireland as the ranking points David earns are vital for the future for Ireland in the Nations ranking list if we are to be able to send larger numbers to World and Olympic track events.

so how many track races has he competed in since he signed for an post?
if my memory serves me correct didn,t his previous team use most of their annual budget getting him to the olympics only for him to get elimated in the first round by a cyclist who retired shortly afterwards?

i hate such synical talk, piss off and ride your bicycles.

dont knock the lads who are trying, not everyones efforts are beyond the politics of sport. The lads do their job and should be proud of their efforts.

Great ambassadors for the sport and for younger riders to look up to.

That is the future of it all.

solid enough results but my point is that the an post sean kelly team is a road development squad and as such should focus on that.
i fully support any irish cyclist but it is unfair to focus on one individual at the cost to the rest of the younger upcoming{hopefully} cyclists

lads all i have read in this thread is complete and utter bollocks. people making comments about paidi o briens results in the past few years obviously arent real cycling fans. he won a stage in the vlamse brabant and and was second in THE FBD INSURANCE RAS and had numerous top ten results in pro kermesses in the past few seasons. as for askin the question why david o loughlin signed for the kelly is the most retarded statement i have ever heard. can anyone name an endurance track cyclist who does not ride on the road.

now hear lads if your going to be so horrible about your fellow sports men and people who represent are country so well you could at least be man enough to leave your name. i have lived with the an post team and raced with them too on occasion and witness eye to eye what they do. when we talk about paidi not having won anything, he won a stage of ronde vlamms brabant ( a very well known stage race in belgium) and was also second on 3 stages of the fbd ras and finished 2nd in g.c which not alot of irish people can say. as for ronan who is the youngest member of the team, the reason you dont see his name up so often is that he slaves on the fron of the peleton most races for team leaders nico and van vooren, now i havent done it much but im sure chasing and following some of the worlds top teams isnt easy. think of the last time you saw someone ride on the front all day and yet still get a good result, not many riders can do this and thats a fact. so how about all you people who criticise all these people actually look into what your talking about before you start writing all this s**t. I recpect all these riders and wish them the best of luck with the rest of there cycling careers..
    Stephen Halpin.
