    Hi Lumo22

As far as I can tell this seems to be a US spec'd player.

I'll make enquireies next week with Philips Ireland to see if they have plans to stock something similar.

We have the BDP3000 in stock at the moment - great little player it is as well...

    Cheers

Here is the spec for the BDP7300

    www.p4c.philips.com/files/b/bdp7300_05/bdp7300_05_pss_eng.pdf

It will play back practically any format on disc or USB and can decode DD True-HD and dts Master Audio into a 5.1 analogue feed so you can send it to a non HDMI equiped AV Amp and take advantage of the latest uncompressed audio formats on BR discs if you have an older amp with 5.1 multi analogue in.

Of course John Mc and the Richer guys will be happy to sort you out with a brand spanking new AV amp in that case......

    Cheers
    Ash

just bought a onkyo507 amp from you, would this player be compatable with this amp. I think i read some where that i need a blu ray player that sends HD audio via bitstream?

Pretty much every BD player will be compatible with the 507.

The only reason you'd need to bitstream audio from your bd player is if the bd player couldn't decode TrueHD or DTS-MA. Bitstreaming allows the bd player to pass the uncompressed audio to the amp, allowing the amp to decode the audio.
The fact that the 7300 can decode the HD audio formats means you can get it to do the decoding, while connecting it to the analogue speaker inputs on the back of the 507.
Personally though, I'd still bitstream the audio from the 7300 to the 507, and let the 507 do the decoding. That's what it's designed to do after all.

    HTH.

Thanks John, the onkyo looks a bit pricey for me.I've just got an onkyo 507 and a Philips 37' 8404 from you and i got a 5.1 set of jamo a102 speakers, so the budget is getting a bit stretched ( I got a little carried away!).I am thinking about a decent blu ray player that as i said will send HD audio via bitstream, i want my amp to do the decoding, has a fast loading time and will do a decent job on upscaling our dvd's. Hope you can help.

If I may be so bold as to recommend the Sony BDP-S350 or S360.

I have the 350, and it's a great little unit. It's been superceded by the S360 at this stage, and I'd imagine that's a great little unit too.

A quick check on RS shows the S350 running at £119.95, and the S360 at £139.95.

It's your decision from here though! ;)
