    Hi,
I was made redundant 3 months ago. yesterday old colleagues heard whispers that I might be offered my old job back, and asked me about it. ( they thought i knew). I have heard nothing about it. Should I call the company to ask them about it?? Or maybe someone just got their wires crossed and ill be making a fool of myself.

aparantly somone told somone who told someone..... no good reliable source :(

Definitely not a reliable source so if i was you i wouldnt call - to save embarrassment if it was wrong.

Colleague 1: "Ha, we are kinda busy in work now, ain't we, would be cool if we took back some of the guys we mad redundant"

Colleague 2: "oh we are taking some of our old guys back?"

Colleague 3: "I hear we are taking "noteb" back, wow this is cool"

etc etc... you catch my drift...

Some companies are styarting to level out a bit, so probably no harm in sending an email to HR letting them know you are still available for work and to let you know if any positions become available.

If they do have a position at least you're already trained.

I'd hold off on sending that email, they know how to contact you. If you appear desperate you'll weaken any negotiations on salary should they consider taking you back.

In the current market do you really think you will be dictating salary levels etc if/when they contact you!

Having been out of work for 3 months (and I speak from experience I was out for 6 months and took a 40% salary drop to work again) be glad to get a chance back and unless the salary is stupid, you are not going to turn it down.

Let them know you are available and want to work for them again if the opportunity arises, if they are looking at options you may move yourself up the list and as previous poster stated, you are fully trained too!
