I'm applying for an internship with a certain organisation. I already have a good amount of voluntary experience with them. Whats the best way to present this? I don't want to look like i'm buttering them up!

Personally I would ring the manager you worked under during your volunteer days, and talk to him about internship possibilities. Using your "network" is the best way to get the things you want.
