Arrival time for DCM

    Hey guys

    DCM is my very first marathon and yes im scared ****less!Ive trained pretty consistently for it but I have to say for the past week, Ive been having alot of doubts and seriously questioning my reasons for doing it. Im sure on the day itll all fall into place (hopefully!).

    Anyways my question is what time do people plan to be at the starting area? I dont want to be hanging around for ages beforehand as I figure its going to pretty cold but at the same time I dont want to be at the very back starting off.

    I think you need to be there at around 8.15 - 8.30 ish. That's our plan anyway. We will be down the back with the 4.30 pacers.

    08:30 is loads of time. If you don't think so just go outside in your shrots and vest and stand around for 30 minutes.

    What you'll need to allow time for is:

    Pick your pen/starting point.
    Queue for a dump/piss.
    Time for a 'pretend' stretch to ease the nerves.
    Another sneaky piss into a doorway or whatever you can get away with.
    Into the pen and try not to let out a nervous piss.

    Bang


    Your off.


    Brain re-engages somewhere around mile 4.
