I'm sure the Non Drinkers Group will agree that you should not drink and drive, but I was shocked to see the number of FF TD's against the new limit!, Goes to show how many people still think its OK to drink an Drive!.

I tested the limit once with the Alcohol tester, A half pint (small Glass) of guinness was enough to put me just below the limit. (and I am your average man) but I see many men take 1 or 2 pints and then drive home. Or worse those who drink themselves to oblivion and sleep for 6 hours then drive to work! Seems our politians do not want to show example and set a limit to stop people drinking and driving.

The excuse it will drive people away from the Pub is a total distraction, If all I could drink was a half pint of Guinness to allow me to drive then the pubs are going to make very little money from their customers who Drink and then drive (under the legal limit)

I don't drink, never have. But the majority of the people I know do. And I have never seen anyone I know have their reactions slowed after only a pint. Many will be over the limit after one pint-but that one pint is unlikely to affect them. I think being tired is MUCH worse than driving after a pint or two. I know I'm a much worse driver when I'm tired than any of my friends who have had one or two pints.

I personally think the law is fine as it is, and that it does not need changing.

I'd like to see statistics showing the blood alcohol levels of everyone involved in fatal road accidents the past few years. I was under the impression that one of the reasons the .08 level was introduced was that it was shown that that limit was unlikely to cause a problem.
