data recovery...

    any suggestions for data recovery software for mac, looking at stellarpheonix and data rescue... but wonder has anyone found anything better or faster or not prone to crashing

    I have used data Rescue and found it very good. Probably hard to get faster considering the size of Hard drives these days.

    I used Photorec(don't worry about the photo bit,it was originally developed to recover Photos).
    It was on an external drive.
    Veeerrry slow but it was a 500 GB.
    Very accurate and FREE..!!

    Another plus for this, I've used it several times and recovered in excess of 700GB
