Seen this horse come second in Punchestown last Wednesday. He came in with nasty cuts on his back legs and i later heard that he was put down.

is this true? can't find any news articles on it.

I think he was a horse. I heard he got a bad tendon injury. I won a good few €s on him when he won the Galway Hurdle last year.

Yeah he was put down.Tore the tendon in the middle of the race but never showed up until well after the finish and sadly had to be put down.Would have been an exciting novice chaser this season on his debut performace.RIP

Sad news that. So two of the last three GH winners have died prematurely what with Farmer Brown and Indian Pace. Let's hope Bahrain Storm has a long career and retirement.

Jasus i didnt know farmer brown was dead.

Yeah hopefully Bahrain Storm will have a long and joyous career and not end up with the same faith or else they could start at "The Galway Hurdle is a dentence" curse. That wouldnt be cool :pac:

Yep, it died last year I think. Just looking on the ATR website and its last run was in the 2008 Champion Hurdle.

A good consistent horse at the Galway hurdle-type standard. Ditto Indian Pace.

    Fingers crossed fro Bahrain Storm!

Did he get ridden into during the race? If the skin was torn off it sounds like something struck into from behind by another horse rather than just breaking down. Or maybe from an awkward mistake while jumping? Very tragic.

    Struck into from behind.

That's horrible. I get so annoyed when I hear that as it's such an unnecessary injury. I'd a great young horse destroyed by some muppet who struck into her from behind due to careless riding! It makes me so angry!

    Sorry for the rant!
