    Hey guys
This may sound like an incredibly stupid question but does anyone know how to get DTT on my TV? I've tried pretty much everything in scanning options but to no avail. I actually managed to get them on the same television before I had to return it because of a fault but for some reason I just cant seem to get them back. Id be very grateful for any guidelines or answers. Would I have to scan manually for them??
    Thanks guys!
    Andrew

    Give us some info....

Do you have a UHF aerial connected to the TV and can you currently pickup analogue channels? Your boards profile (Location) says that you're in Dublin, based on my experience can you say how good or bad your TG4 picture is because that is on an adjacent channel to the RTE Mux on 3rock - unless you have a very good TG4 picture you won't be able to pickup DTT from 3rock.

Ok TG4 reception is spot on, no problem on that front. I have a coax cable going from the back of my telly into my wall so I'm not sure if that means i've a uhf aerial or not on my roof (just moved into the house!) I'm picking up roughly 18 or so analogue channels of varying quality. RTE 1 and 2 and BBC not being great tg4 being one of the clearest.

EDIT, and I managed to get DTT before on the exact same model of TV with EPGs and everything but for some reason I cant reproduce the same result as last time

18 channels sounds suspiciously like the NTL analog service - is there an aerial on the roof? If so, is there more than one and what direction are they pointing? When you talk about being able to get DTT previously, was that in the same house or on the same TV?

With one or more aerials, the maximum you'll get is four Irish and four UK channels on analogue, any more than that and you have cable TV.

Yes NTL would make sense I believe that was mentioned in the DAFT ad before I moved in, I cant quite make out if theres an aerial on the roof, although its dark and rainy out so maybe I just couldnt see it =S I'll report back as soon as I manage to find out if there is one.

I have the same problem in Maghera , I retuned and lost my TV channels and can only pick up 4 radio channels and their 7 day EPG now.

Sponge Bob, I don't think this is an issue with DTT, read the thread again.

Do a factory reset and select cable instead of antenna. If you get a lot of scrambled digital channels above channel number 100 you are connected to a cable feed fom UPC/NTL.

I think he has 2 problems but NTL analogue MMDS was turned off 5 years ago . Pity :)

I don't know about NTL MMDS but there are about 18 analogue channels on the NTL wires which can be picked up with no decoder, I have them on my bedroom tele, watching it right now, that's what I figure the OP has.

Do you get a 7 day epg with them that could be interpreted by a non NTL box ???

His area could have gone digital all of a sudden , of course.

I have an NTL digital box downstairs on my main tele, that's a PVR with EPG. In the bedroom I have the co-ax running straight into the tele which gives me about 18-20 channels with no EPG, just old style cable TV but I don't have to pay for a second decoder which was the main reason I went for NTL instead of Sky.

Clearly the OP is connecting to UPC's (NTL) analogue cable service, you will not be able to get DTT through this cable.

If you want to get DTT, then you will need to connect an aerial to the TV.

I think these TVs have a dual DVB-C/DVB-T tuner.
