    Anyone else watching this.
Always liked him- natural funnyman, the reason why the Simpsons was funny when it was funny (?), interesting interview with him.

i just watched it. i like it but it seemed like Gerry didnt fully get Conan's sense of humour at times!

Thought it was good to hear him talk about Ireland. Always liked him, genuinely funny guy with a great sense of humour. I agree that he's one of the main reasons The Simpsons was so good. I would have liked it to go on a bit longer. I'm not the biggest Ryan fan, but who else have we got?

I have a lot of time for O Brien, smart guy with a razor sharp wit. His work on the tonight show has been very good recently.
It was great to see an interview with him, just a shame it was with that self serving windbag Ryan. This could have been twice as great in the hands of someone who didn't think the interview was about advancing their already bloated ego.

I too enjoyed the show. O' Brien is a great entertainer and a relaxed witty gentleman along with it. Gerry did OK, least it wasn't the stick man Tubridy at the helm. Good TV, it goes some way to making up for what we are subjected to on a Monday night.

Yeah i like the way he weaves the seriousness with the gags.
I think Gerry was doing his best to keep up. :)

na, he left in 94 and the simpsons was consistently funny until at least until around 1998

What was the touching of knees at the end about?

hes funnier than i thought he would be. seems a genuine good guy and proud of his irishness. i liked him i have to say. ryan is so weird though, can we touch knees. WTF?!

conan-great and proud he is irish (well descened from)
    gerry-cringy and embarassed he's irish
think there was a quote from gerry along the lines of "it must be great to be famous etc etc" with his eyes wide open wishing he could be as famous. then conan who has his head screwed on was saying its not so great!
shall we touch knees? no go away gerry you weirdo you'll never be like conan

WHY is that fat pillock Gerry Ryan on the telly at all?

His face has gotten so fat it looked like he was going to burst like a balloon.

The touchin knees thing was funny...

I think Gerry was tryin to be abit zany and out there, but it backfired as Conan was looking nervously over his shoulder at his bodyguard! :D

Also liked the way they had Conan in an armchair of some sort and Gerry on a little 2 foot stool, looking up at him!
You could almost hear Gerry sayin "Oh Conan, your everything I want to be; funny, thin, host of your own major chat show earning 20 million a year....................did i mention thin?"

I recorded this show as I was busy at the time of the original broadcast but I look forward to watching it this Saturday night when everyone else is out getting drunk and socialising.

If by funny you mean awkward then yes, yes it was. Honestly, Conan is just after saying he and his family belong in Ireland and that's where he should be and the only response Gerry can think of is "Can we touch knee's?". Muppet.

Yea checked allready on rte player but I found it on youtube :)

Found the interview good, thought Gerry was ok, the interview it self was good, but only because of Conan himself. At times it was awkard with Gerry but I liked Conan's stroy and pic he had with the Simpsons crew was good.A bit short aswell.Godd allround tho

Moncrief? I think someone like him could have done a much better job.

Agree with most views on here though. O'Brien came across really well in the interview. Seems like a very level headed chap.
