Back to Work Scheme??

I have been unemployed since March. In february I became a share holder/director in a small business. Ltd Company. The plan was always to keep full time employement and let the business work itself out of debt.

I don't get paid from this and I 100% wont be claiming a share at the end of the year. I have been working voluntary for a few months now to pass the time really. Is it possible for me to sign up to the back to work scheme and maybe apply for some employement grants?

    anyone with any info?

The back to work scheme has been scrapped, apart from the back to work enterprise scheme, which applies to new businesses only.

(Keep in mind that if you have been working voluntarily you may not be eligible for a jobseeker's payment on the basis of not being genuinely available for work.)

well no because I am completely 100% available for work and if anything, I use this time to look for work. There is no difference to me taking a walk in a park and volunteering because there is absolutely no comittment and like I said I'm a shareholder.

    Shame about the scheme :(
