PC cannot see my MP3 Player

Sorry if this has been asked before. I have a Samsung YP-Z5 mp3 player which my PC can no longer see. The USB port works with other devices but when I plug my mp3 player in, the player screen just shows "connecting..." all the time. I use Window XP SP2, WMP11. I have tried rolling back to WMP10 as this is what's mentioned in the player manual but Windows gives me an arror message to the effect that WMP10 is not supported.

I have also tried to install the latest drivers for my player from Samsung website and get the error message "This version of Media Transfer Protocol requires Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millenium Edition, or Windows 2000. Media Transfer Protocol may be installed on later versions of Windows by installing WMP10." However, on their website they say XP is one of the OS required.

I have emailed Samsung twice before about this problem and received no reply from them.

Can anyone here help me please?:)

    1) Try upgradding the firmware. Might not work, but there's a chance.

    2) Right click My Computer, click Manage, fiind the Removable Drives, and double click on Samsung mp3 if it's there.

Then the USB cable should connect after that the next time you plug it in.
