PS3 error 80130203: NAT type fail

I have BT broadband operating out of an eircom netopia router. Previously, I did all the port forwarding etc. and eventually was able to play games online, mainly fifa 09.

Got the new fifa there recently and at the beginning was able to play matches fine until the last couple of days. Nothing has changed in terms of internet provider or router and the internet settings on the PS3 haven't been touched. However, every time I try and test the internet settings it comes up with the above error and says NAT Type failed.

If anyone could help it would be very much appreciate.

P.S. I previously had NAT Type 3

Im in the same position as you. Ive an eircom netopia router and am eircom but experiencing the same error all the time for the past week and a half,

try this, go to internet settings an do everything automatic
then test connection may work

if not try changing to a nat 1 or nat 2 may work also

hey, this error code it keeps popping up - even though i am not even attempting to sign in

erm.. what the hell is going on... multiple error codes now. this is off the wall

Error 80120203: Internet Connection OK but Cannot Connect To Playstation Network
Check your router settings. The following ports should be open: 80(TCP), 443(TCP), 5223(TCP), 3478(UDP), 3479(UDP), 3658(UDP).

all those ports are already open. driving me bloody nuts trying to figure it out!
