John O Mahoney is the winner this week. Giving out about Ryanair and Aer Lingus putting up prices for the Ireland match day

Oh how horrible they are for maximising their profit when demand is big.

I would call him a complete moron, but its the people who think "Good on ya John" and go on to vote for him that i really pity. If he really gave a crap, hed offer a govt subsidy for the games to the airlines or look to pass legislation to stop it.

In conclusion (and sums up life) talk is cheap.

He was my geography teacher and was always sports mad. He used to explain to us that "the world is like a football". It's probably something he's genuinely incensed about. I was surprised to hear he was going into politics because he's too decent a guy to be mixing with that shower.

It's business. Sure consumers might not like it, but businesses are in business for a profit, their aim is to maximise it and they know people will pay if there's an important match.

    That's what OP said...

Sure that's what politicians do : they just say what they feel the people will agree with...and it seems to work to an extent..

    1. Wear a brown Anorack

    2. Drink pints of Bass in your local

    3. Tell everyone how much you love Man Utd

    4. Wink at random strangers

    Job Done!

He is not a moron. He is a very smart man actually.

He is playing the game of politics in Ireland. Populism and quick sound bites.
