    Hey there,

Basically I was wondering what are the long term consequences of not getting a crown or replacement filling for one that has fallen out due to an overzealous toffee that actually sucked it right out.

    Thanks,

    AH

Most likely more decay a large cavity to re-fill.
Possible sensitivity leading to ain once the pulp gets involved. After this root canal treatment and possible crown or extraction

The longer things are left like that, the more complicated and expensive treatment becomes.
What can start out needing just a filing replaced can end up needing root canal treatment and a crown, a costly delay.

Try get an appointment with a dentist as soon as possible. I broke a filling recently and had to wait a week to get an appointment with my dentist. Even though it was only a small amount of the filling that came out, and I initially had no pain, I was in agony by the end of the week due to an exposed nerve and painkillers wouldn't work.

Even if you aren't in pain, I'd re-iterate what has been said before. If you don't go to the dentist to get it re-filled, you're only going to allow more problems to develop, which may result in a simple filling turning into a root filling. Remember, a stitch in time saves nine!!
