Letter from work affect waiting time?

I've heard of this being done before but wonder if its still going on. Failed today and really need to be driving for work. If I get a letter and send it off with my application will it affect my waiting time? Is there any way to do this with the online (apply on line and send letter to address)?

hi brow your best bet might be to apply online and then ring the 1890 number and ask for a cancellation date or i think they say you can fax them a letter

When I (re)applied by post, the letter back said that if I needed a full license for employment purposes my employer should send a letter to the RSA and something could be done, basically.

I rang up last week asking could how soon I could get a test. Was asked if i needed it for work, I said 'yeah' and she said, okay, Friday sound okay?? I asked if she needed a letter and she said no...
