Have not seen it mentioned before here, so I thought I would say that Romero's The Crazies is being loosely remade with a Febuary 2010 release for the new version.

I loved the original so will be checking out the new one next year. The trailer has me thinking it could be utter tosh just as easily as being a decent take on the original, but I am holding out for Tim Olyphant to finally bring a performance that does not feel like he phoned it in. Since Deadwood (and one appearance on My Name Is Earl :) ) I just feel like he has been in limbo performance wise.

Then again maybe it is just me hoping that he is a good actor more than him being one. :P

Blasphemy, he rocked balls in The Girl Next Door.

I hold out hope for this, Tim Olyphant is a great actor. I enjoyed him immensely in Go, Beyond Suspision, The Broken Heart's Club, Stop Loss, A Perfect Getaway, Deadwood and Damages. Granted , he was terrible in Die Hard 4.0 and Hitman [unfortunately his two biggest roles] but still, great actor!
