Doing a Masters in England and I am required to obtain a CRB (criminal record bureau) clearance or an equivalent from my own country.

Can anyone tell me what the equivalent here would be and how I would go about obtaining it?

    Thank you.

(Was very unsure where to post this so please feel free to move it to a more appropriate location)

I' fairly sure this is just a Garda vetting cert. Go to your local garda station and they will tell you exactly what you need. I believe it involves giving them your addresses for the past few years.

    Hello

I am applying to volunteer in a charity shop. Had to fill out a CRB form. Gave the 6 years of addresses I have lived at in Ireland (having moved from UK 6 years ago) but was told I had to go back further.

Then provided addresses that went back just over 30 years but the shop manageress says I need to provide addresses pretty much from when I was born but it's not easy info to get hold of.

Neither of my parents are alive and digging up addresses and the years of living there would be a tremendous hassle.

Have already given more addresses that cover the years before I was of an age to be criminally responsible for anything! Just for the record, I have never had any convictions so it's not that I'm afraid of any dark past being brought out in the open.

Is this standard procedure? Maybe I just look dodgy, lol.
