    Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone has done much racing (marathons or half even IM) in warm humid weather. Looking at temps between 33-38 oC . What did you do different in your training

I don't do anything different in training. I know some people who try running in lots of layers and unbreathable materials but I've never found it necessary. What I do try is to be in the race location about 48 hours before (takes about that time to acclimatise to heat - longer for cold and elevation) and to watch electrolytes which you generally don't have to do in Ireland.

When I was training for IM Nice last year I did some sessions (less than an hour) in the gym. As even though it has a/c it feels warm and humid with very little air flow.

im living in australia at the moment and i really miss being able to train in the cold. whatever the weather back home it was shorts and tshirt , top off if i was somewhere deserted.
i dont know if its universal in hot climates but events here seem to start early sydney half marathon started at 6:20 i think and the full marathon stated at 7. i know that doesnt help much if you are training for an ironman though.

anyway...im kinda used to the heat but it still makes training harder and i sweat more. in terms of getting used to it? i suppose some people handle the heat better than others.
