Can anyone recommend a reliable transportation company to bring a vintage commercial from Portugal to Ireland.
Any advice would be greatfully accepted. Thanks.

Did you find them in a barn by any chance?

If the vehicle can drive 'under its own steam' so to speak, you could try and negotiate a deal with the vendor, that he organises transport to Santander in Spain, that's not a million miles away from Portugal, and there is a direct Ferry into Cork if I am not mistaken? You could ship the car as an 'unaccompanied vehicle' and that usually works very well...

That was only 'talk'. The Cork - Swansea ferry service hasn't even resumed yet...

Ouch, you;re absolutely right Justin. :o
I was always under the impression that had taken off, but it seems there's only a Santander - Plymouth sailing, and a Bilbao - Porstmouth...
both destinations aren't that much of a help I guess...

Well in fairness the ship is tied up to the quayside in Cork so it's looking good!!! As far as I know it's starting up again probably from St. Patricks day on. The ferry from Brittany is still running as far as I know.

I would say that to bring this vehicle home in an articulated lorry as part of a groupage load would cost you 1500 euro.. maybe as low as 1,000 depending on size. you would need to ensure forklift available to load it,assuming its not driving. if it can drive then a ramp would be needed at the loading point.

I know i may be thinking outside the box here... What would be the cost involved in importing a right hand drive car from a sunnier climate? I was looking at Lichtenberg Classics yesterday and i was admiring the stunning rust free examples he has imported from contries such as Austria etc,Price wise he is not too bad but still it would be a bit out of my reach, for instance he has cars for €10,000 which are absolute minters,if i could say knock a few grand off or am i not being realistic?
