Access recovery partition Advent laptop

Hi all, My advent 4401 laptop with Vista was stolen recently and the thieves installed a copy of xp the police(in New Zealand) just happened to do a raid on the house of the thieves the next day and installed another copy of xp on the laptop so the could access some files to find out the owner. they found a pic of my car…

Hi all, My advent 4401 laptop with Vista was stolen recently and the thieves installed a copy of xp the police(in New Zealand) just happened to do a raid on the house of the thieves the next day and installed another copy of xp on the laptop so the could access some files to find out the owner. they found a pic of my car and traced the number plate and gave me a call, good work.

I now want to reinstall vista using recovery partition so that i have a genuine version(the police version only last 30 days i think, and don't want to use the thieves version)

When i press f10/f11 on post it wont go into the recovery partition. from disk management tool in computer management it shows the recovery partition so should still be there.

any help appreciated.
