Removing Head Unit from Astra VAN

    Hi,
I've been trying to remove the head unit in an Astra van but with no luck. Had coat hangers fashioned as a removal tool but it just wouldn't budge. I've removed stock head units before but it's just not budging. Took a trip to Halfords to see if the proper tool would work, the regular radio fitter even came out but had no luck and said that because it's a van, that the stock radio is probably secured better as it'd be more likely to be swiped so he said there'd usually be 4 bolts holding it in. Now I've just seen on an Astra forum that to remove the head console cover, you have to first remove 2 screws on either side of the head unit, so you must take the head unit out first... but I need to remove the head console to take the head unit out!! Unless the screws aren't screwed on mine. I haven't had a chance to take the console off yet but would really love to hear from somebody who had the same issue before I attempt just to reassure me the screws aren't in this part. I also need to get myself a torx screwdriver first :o

If anyone has any experience with this, I'd appreciate any feedback!
