well guys i started a new band a few weeks back (the dead architects) and this is our first outing.

vocals are only scratch and we're working on the lyrics and tightening them up (a lot of it was just freestylin on the spot to see what worked). the backing vocals will al be re-recorded aswell as they had to be recorded elsewhere and transferred over to me but we have studio time coming up soon for lead and BKs.
also in the chorus theres still the vocal hook to go over the top.

so its more the structure im needing opinions on.

already spoke to a few producers i know and this version is the result of their advice (thanks lads in pulse!)

    thanking you....

.. and yes the irony of it being hip-hop with all the hip hop threads lately is not lost on me :-D

Sounds grand apart for the Wrapper's 'groove' - on some sections he's fine on others he's all over the gaff, specifically way ahead of the beat which gives it a very 'amateur' feel to my ears.

Indeed - never the less, that's an issue he has, scratching or not. I'd guess one doesn't do things wrong on purpose - so it's important to point that out.

ok paul, ill clear this up in your head.

    imagine the scenario

sitting in a home studio, 1am on a sat night, spliffs and beers on the go. track is 80% finished cept for vox.

"hey dude, what we gonna do for vocals?"..

"dunno yet, lets just get a rough sketch down so we can finish the music and then ill take it away and develop it"..

"no worries.. pass the spliff please"

    you gettin the idea? :pac:

If he's stoned he definitely should be behind the beat ;)

Lyrics sound like when a dog is dying.

    you wanna expand on that?

or you wanna maybe read the initial post where i clearly stated ive absolutly no interest in hearing anything about the vocals because they're only there to see how the vocals will work in the track.

its english.. it isnt too hard to understand
vocals are only scratch and we're working on the lyrics and tightening them up (a lot of it was just freestylin on the spot to see what worked)

am i missing something obvious in that statement? to me its fairly clear.
