applying for psychiatric nursing as a mature student

Hi All, I am going to apply for psychiatric nursing next year.
I am currently working as a carer in a home..
Has anyone any advice for me in order to help me increase my chances of getting in?

I believe I will have to do an interview..

Any advice much appreciated..

You're already working within the healthcare environment which is brilliant. Is it a nursing home or psych unit? I would try get some shadow experience if you can at a psychiatric unit if you can or another area other than the area you are working in now.

There is a written assessment you must do first which will determine whether you get called for an interview. There were some threads on it here but with the search function down, it will take a while for me to find.

No, I'm doing Physiotherapy but for most health science courses they are looking for the same types of things.
