    http://www.dublincity.ie/RoadsandTraffic/Parking/Pages/DublinCityParkingControl(Amendment)ByeLaws.aspx

These are rather bloated and contain lots of fuzziness like:

    • visitor parking permits
    • visitor permits
    • visitors parking permits
    • visitors’ permit parking
    • visitor's permit
    • visitors permits
    • visitors' permits
    • parking permit
    • valid parking permit
    • invalid visitor's parking permit (While valid is defined, invalid is not)

Further they have things like "ticket parking machines". Now, presumably this is not the familiar piece of street furniture that is a parking ticket machine, but something to park your tickets.

All of the above refer to the same thing - how do judges interpret such things?

How does one rationalise such things into something that is both water-tight and readable?

Don't let local authorities draft them!
