Yamaha are decent, but whatever u do, dont buy it from lidl, (or argos for that matter) it will have no back up whats so ever. A friend of mine got a drum kit there before, once they sold out of them, they never got them again and he was screwed when it started to fall apart and needed replacement parts.
Buy it from a proper music shop.

Take a trip down to the sound shop in drogheda. Huge selection of gear and will pricematch on everything. Keep a listen to LMFM for thier 30% off everything sales which they have 3 or 4 times a year.

There is a guitar shop in carlow called iminmusic or something like that, if you google it you will get the address.
All the main music shops will have deals on these kits coming up to christmas.
Also try thomann or music store.

Would be a decent product I reckon but looks a bit pricey. Surely you could get something cheaper on the web. maybe ebay, or any of the irish sites as shipping might be cheaper

Dont want to sound patronising, but is it your first guitar? I thought my first guitar and amp sounded great....until i upgraded.

one of the reasons the lidil guitars would be crap is the level of quality control. they are mass produced. your guitar may play great, the one next off the production line may be fit for fire wood. that guitar would have to have been built for under 50 euro when you take everything into account, unless they are below cost selling. because of this they are mainly poorly put togeather and have crap components, and wont stay in tune.

Isn't that a bit of a truism though. A better guitar will be better by definition.

The rebranded Yamaha's electrics they used to sell were good starter guitars. But I dunno if the current ones are to the same standard. The usually advice still applies. If you know nothing, bring someone who does along to check out the quitar for you.
