Ipod Battery

I own a 30gb Ipod, approx 3years old, and I've noticed the battery time is starting to decrease far quicker than it used to, and the total life before dying is a lot shorter.

Is it worth my while sending away for a battery, or is there somewhere in Ireland that does repairs etc (slight defect on the screen too, but I'm not overly bothered about that)?

Or am I just better waiting until I replace my Ipod completly in the future?

    Thanks.
