I'm loving the pic of the hiace with duelling asian guys!
And the hiace would be my choice, although i presume the VW will be the most popular.

I voted for the sherpa, coz my dad had one....and it had overdrive, which to me was well cool. when it was retired it got parked in my yard and I kept my dog in it. 11 years later a local farmer took the engine out of it and it started up after about 10 mins...great yoke.:) Ive still got it, its my kids playhouse now.

Transit for me. Reminds me of all those scenes in the films where they rob a bank and get chased by a hape of Ford Granadas.:D

I've either owned or driven all of these vans. The nicest was the hiace and urvan. The CF was basic and the sherpa was scrap the day it left the factory. My favourite is the Merc for sheer ruggedness and durability, it wasn't made out of tin cans.

Most of the vans were petrol models, few decent diesels available back then except the merc.
