ipod touch not playing all songs

    hey all, hoping some of ye will be able to help me out:)

    i got a new 8gb ipod touch about a month ago.
    i hooked it up to the desktop, it's the first ipod to be connected to it, all the rest are connected to the laptop.

    using the homeshare feature on itunes i had already transferred all the music from the laptop to the desktop. that worked fine no problems.

    however once i synced the songs to the ipod i found that any songs which i had purchased from itunes on the laptop would not play, but ones i had purchased on the desktop worked fine. any ideas what the problem is?

    also any apps i've downloaded either on the desktop or straight to the ipod won't open either?

    hoping it's only a minor problem!
