The only hair loss in mine I've noticed is on her hind legs it seemed to thin out for a period there this year but she seemed fine.

Also her ears from scratching as she regularly has problems with infections in her ears.

its a problem its mostly inherited ,the dogs mostly loose it this time of year for some reason.

my 3 GWP never have had this problem and have good thick coats.

i know two men every well that have and had dogs with this problem one spent a fortune on tests ,with no out come .

There's probably no harm in administering a good worm dose. Patchy hair loss can sometimes be a sign of ringworm. Having said that, my dad GWP always starts the season with a lovely bushy snout and plenty of coat on the shoulders but towards the end of the season he looks like his snout and shoulders have been shaven and the only reason is the way he works dense cover.

Jonnie... had two gwps in the past from totally diff litters and they both had this problem paid alot of money to find out and it turned out it was an under active throid gland.... can also make them put on weight and basically lethargic... they have it for life and will have to get tablets everyday....very costly...it may be the case though that this isnt the problem...i hope
