    Hi all...
New here but just wondering what fight gear brands you would all like to see come to our shores??
    Tapout
    Warrior Wear
    Jaco
    Silver Star

Any of these not considered worthy?

The reason I ask is myself and a couple of guys are about to open up a MMA store and we are currently in discussions with a lot of the major fight gear manufacturers.. So we want to know what you want to see..

    Please let us know..

    Thanks,

    Osh

OP. By brands are you referring to fashion brands or training gear?

IMO tapout, silver star and affliction etc are fashion brands. If by training gear then you cant beat the likes of twins or fairtex (pricey). Hayabusa have some quality training gear, King too. Both are reasonably priced. My own two cents I think venum and vulkan have come up with some good products.

    For gloves/pads: Twins, Fairtex, Sandee
    Shorts: Sprawl, Nogi, Tapout, Punishment

Fashion brands are fashion brands, different thing to fight gear, but is probably a growing market for that type of stuff. Why people would pay €50 for a tacky looking Afflication tshirt is beyond me but if you find people to buy them off you more power to you! :pac:

    Hayabusa
    Bad Boy
    Sprawl
    Fairtex

are on our list as well..
We want a place that both fighters and supporters of the sport can come and shop and get what they need for their particular requirements..

We've tried to get in touch with Affliction but no joy..

Keep the suggestions coming and anything else you would like to see in the shop.. We are going to have a section for training supplements too..

I'd like somewhere that did good quality thai gear without riding you. Sandee, Thaismai or Windy preferably

For fashion I'd like to see brands like Death Pain, Pestilence, Blood Fury and Bonesnapwear.

The idea sounds good but didn't warriors on Moore Street close down some months ago and the country is in a worse state financially. I would of thought its probably the worst time ever to open a business not to mention one as specialist as an MMA Shop but good luck with it.

From my experience I'd have to agree with Rampage...
Although it's a great time to lease someplace, the market is way to small here, and you can't ever compete with the big UK and US stores who ship here.
Best of luck though, you'll probably make a few bob around UFC time :)

Personally I think "Warriors" was very unlucky timing-wise. They had to shut just after UFC 93 in the O2 and I had only heard about the place a matter of weeks before that. Had I know about it previously, or even if it was still open now, I'd be buying bits and bobs in it most weeks. As would a bunch of people I know who train and just have an interest.

I think a shop in a central location, with good stock at this time would do well.

IMO MMA clothing is absolutely horrible, especially Affliction and all those othe skulls flames and wings brands. Although I do have a Cage Fighter Dan Henderson t-shirt but only because it has Hendo on it.

We do need to get more gear available, Hayabusa, Fairtex and Kings gear would be nice.

I think that an MMA Shop will only be successful if you cater for the fans aswell as the local fighters. I don't think the guys would make much money if they only sell the odd bit of fight gear. It wouldn't sustain any business. In a post earlier they said a number of guys were opening the shop so I cannot see how they would make money unless they stock the clothing.

    Thanks for all your replies.

We are working on things at the moment so we'll be in touch in due course with status updates.
As it stands right now, we will be stocking fight gear, fight inspired fashion gear and sports supplements. We envisage a place where fighter and fight fan can shop for all their MMA requirements.
We will be bringing an online shop on stream first and then in the new year a high street store.

    Thanks for all your feedback.
We will be running a comp before the online store goes live and giving away some gift vouchers to the lucky winners.

Again, we will keep you posted.
