A quick question from a recent VHS to DVR convert hoping someone can help:

Which blank DVD media format will let me record multiple separate programs on it in sequence & without overwriting each other? Embarrassingly I just cannot get my head around the differences between all the DVD+/-RW etc formats unfortunately and don't want to end up buying the wrong ones .

They'll be used in a Samsung DVD-SH897M btw. Thank you kindly! :o

I don't think it really matters about + or -. I've never really bothered finding out the difference and never had a problem. I stand to be corrected though.

Just make sure the discs are RW.

Many thanks Wheety - are you currently using + or - yourself as a matter of interest?

Well, this will not be a problem if your DVD disc only stays with your player. However, if you are planning to share/lend it, the player of the other person may not be able to play it. Some players only support DVD-RW whilst others only support DVD+RW or both.

This is how I see the difference between the two.

    DVD+ RW

I got a spindle of 10 for around €15 in PC World (I think. It was a while ago so might have that price wrong)
