Hey guys, thought I'd pick your brains seeing as im stuck in a 4th year project group with 2 chineese students who have almost no english, its their first year in ireland and the college thought it would be a fantastic idea to throw them into groups with 1 person from ireland so anyway, we have to make or modify a computer system (in theory, we dont have to actually make it) for an industry or a company. The project has to satisfy 3 main guidlines. It must be Business viable Ie. it has to make a profit. It needs to be Ethically viable Ie. it has to help humans in some way, for example reducing our carbon footprint or aiding healthcare. It has to be Technically viable ie. It needs to have a solution involving computers or a computer system.

Any help at all appreciated, im getting damn stressed. 6 internets to the best idea btw.

    Cheers.

So what you are saying is you have to develope something software/hardware for a fourth year project i had to do mine last year. What technologies, development environment, development languages do you know. Concidering you are in a group i would expect that they want you to do something somewhat complex and you will also be expected to have a conciderable amount of the functionality working because you are in a group. You might want to look at Android or J2ME or JavaFX and develop somekind of mobile application, then in your documentation talk about how commercially viable it is. When i did my project module i did not have to concider the commerciallity of the idea, however i had a seperate module where i had to do a business plan

Hey u can try GEMINI.. GEMINI (Generic Monitoring Infrastructure) is a lightweight
framework for providing monitoring data of various types over
Web Services in distributed environments. GEMINI can collect
data about different types of entities including applications,
resources or services. Generic sensor infrastructure is provided
to enable users to create and deploy their own sensors and produce
data into GEMINI infrastructure. Just search for gemini project in google.. its worth a try..
