Hey all I am a first year in D.I.T. I was just wondering what the review week generally consisted of (do we have to go in to college or what??) This is extremely important cause if it's a sort of a holiday I'd like to go back home and visit my family (they live far far away and I'm homesick:(:() PLS answer back, thanks!

In first year two. I think it differs from school to school but the computing school afaik, there's still class on they just don't do any more new stuff. So they have to go over old topics. I don't think it's seen as a time to go on holiday

Sorry to hear your home sick ,

Review week is a week where nothing new should be thought, it's too help some students catch up if they need it. So if you think your ok and not behind then your ok to go. Some People do see it as a holiday (i've been one of them) although we really shouldn't

But i heard from some lecturers that the review week is being pushed back to the last week in the semester (longer xmas holiday:cool:) but it's only for some courses so ask your letterers if it's next week or just before xmas holidays

Yeah, every year there seems to be confusion about when review week is (in the school of computing anyway). Last year we had different lecturers telling us different things and it ended with half of em giving us review week in week 6/7 and the other half in week 12/13. Not sure if theyve sorted it out this year.

It's also important to note that some lecturers will schedule continuous assessment tests during review week so make sure you've got nothing like that before going on holiday or such

There is no review week next week. It has been moved to get an extra week of work in. Its now on at the end of term. This is definite from the lecturers i have been talking to.

    Hmm?
The general consensus among my lectures today was "enjoy next week"?
    O_o

I'd maybe mention what course you're in etc, as far as my lecturers and the rest of the school of media seem to be concerned it's "enjoy your week." Well, actually it was more of a "we'll enjoy our week, you guys have a stupid amount of work to do" ... pesky final year!

In my course, the general consensus seems to be that review
week is treated as a doss week. Just to remind DT211/3 people, the
IT Law essay has to be submitted by next Wednesday.

Lecturers should not be covering new material, but some do regardless.
Tests and the like can be sprung upon you too during the week.

Im on review week right now. No organised calsses all week but the lecturers are about if we have questions. Have some group meetings organised for projects most days but its nice not to have set class. We have our Final Year Project meeings too.
