Have you tried Harvey Normans? I think they were selling off the 80GB version for €250. They sell new games for €56 too, don't they? Not sure if Uncharted is cheaper elsewhere though.

Hmm a wee bit of research might help you out. Maybe if you go around to the different game stores and weight up the pros and cons of the deals n price you'll find your Ps3!

I'd say game stop or smiths would be your best bet though.

Asking ppl on here to do your work is a bit arrogant like, but still. Word of mouth is handy.

GAME have the PS3 250GB + Uncharted 2 + one of these free; FIFA 10, NFS Shift, Tiger Woods 2010, Fight Night Round 4 for €349.99

Cheers for the help people! I'm gonna try Go Harvey Go tomorrow lol.

Well i wasn't so much asking people to do my work just if anyone knew off the top of their heads, got a good deal themselves etc.

Because being honest Uncharted 2 is the only reason i want one, never seen a PS3 exclusive before it to ever even catch my eye, but that looks amazing, more so the multi player.

    thanks again.

Why would you go to Harvey Norman, they offer the cheapest BUT worst value PS3 available?
They are selling the old 80GB PS3 model for €250 whereas GAME & HMV are selling the 250GB Slim PS3 with 2 brand new games (normally RRP of €55) for €350.
HMV are the cheapest shop in for brand new games at the moment, usually €5 cheaper than the competing stores.

If theres any chance you're going up north any time soon, you should buy it up there, you'll definetley get the best deal.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-Console-250GB-Uncharted/dp/B002S0OCYA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1256162515&sr=1-2

Amazon do the super saver delivery now to Ireland meaning free delivery, so you can get the PS3 slim and Uncharted 2 bundle for around 315 euro delivered to your door

EDIT: It's also the 250 GB model

TBH safer off getting it in the north for £285 = €315

    http://www.game.co.uk/search.aspx?s=ps3&x=0&y=0

Then again he probably doesn't live up the north. I would also advise on getting a game card as if you buy it for €349.99 then you would get like €8 off your next purchase.

It looks like the exchange rate is going the wrong way for southern shoppers if some of the rates on here are correct. However it's an ill wind and all that so it may encourage more to shop at home.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,332 ✭✭✭valleyoftheunos

Unless you live near the north or are going up anyway its not really worth going up there imo, after petrol you are only looking at a saving of E15-E20.

I bought mine in Game two weeks ago and got pretty much everything I will want for it for some time for E350, have been very happy since. Having said that, three separate assistants spent so long trying to upsell me the additional guarantee that I nearly walked out.

I heard that they are trying to lower VAT to encourage people to shop in the south for christmas but as it stands now the north is still amazingly cheap.

My bro got a slim up north recently, brilliant price in Game, although we have family up there so they were able to buy it and bring it down for him when they visited.

was looking at play.com is a crime that online stores selling in euro have such a price increase over stering it's not like they have any increase in cost it's coming from the same warehoure anyway

amazon at least only use sterling and now have the free shipping for over £25 but they do add for the extra 5% vat
