I've been dealing in cars since I was 11, sold my first new one to the principle in my school when I was 15! I've bought and sold almost every make with the exception of supercars but I did own a couple of Ferraris and Lotus' over the years. I've got 16 at the moment, sold a lot of my stuff around the start of the summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 827 ✭✭✭PaulK_CCI

How long would one have to own the car to count them as 'owning' them :D.
I owned many cars not longer than say a couple of days, before they went to their new owners.

I have been importing and selling Classic cars in Ireland since 1996, and if i were to count every car that was ever registered in my name, I would probably also get up to a similar figure as Junkyard, however, I most definitely never owned more than 10 cars at one given time, because I was (and still am) a firm believer that there is no point in having a lot of money tied up in a huge stock. Generally my experience was that no matter how many cars you had, people would always want a different spec or colour than the one you had in the end anyway..., that's why I specialised in sourcing and importing, rather than offering a large stock.

Here is a sample of the ones that I owned for a bit longer than just a couple of days and that made a lasting impression (in alphabetical order, not preference :)):

    BMW Coupe 3.0 CS
    BMW 2002 Tii
    Citroen DS
    Datsun 240Z
    Fiat Dino Coupe

    Mercedes W110 (190,220SE)
    Mercedes W111 Coupe/Convertible (lost count)
    Mercedes W113 (Pagoda, a few)
Mercedes W114/W115 Sedan/CE, (diesels and petrol)
    Peugeot 404 Familiale
    Porsche 911 "S"/"T"/"E"/ SC / Carerra
    Porsche 912 Targa/Coupe
    Range Rover
    Saab 900 EMS/Turbo

The 240 and the 260? The E type maybe but the Datsuns I had no problem selling on, they'd do nothing for me tbh. I buy and sell them for a living so it would want to have sentimental value or be a car I always wanted to keep it. I have a few I wouldn't sell for any money.
